US Muslims have been angered by a state senator who distributed a flier which suggested suicide terrorist attacks might be deterred by burying attackers' bodies with pig entrails.
Guy Glodis, a Democrat in the Massachusetts state legislature, sent a flier to 39 colleagues recounting the execution of Muslim extremists in the Philippines by US General John Pershing in 1913.
In the account, terrorists were executed with bullets dipped in pig's blood, "then buried with pig's blood, entrails, etc.," a practice which, according to the leaflet, "instantly barred Muslims from paradise, dooming them to hell."
The flier was published by the Boston Globe newspaper.
"Maybe," said the flier, "it is time for this segment of history to repeat itself, maybe in Iraq (news - web sites)," implying that such acts might discouraged potential Muslim suicide bombers.
Muslims are forbidden by their religion from eating pork or having any contact with pigs.
Glodis told the Boston Globe of the leaflet: "I didn't write it. I just passed it along to my colleagues. I often share news items of interest with my colleagues."
But American Muslim groups were furious. One group called on the Massachusetts Senate to open an ethics investigation and censure Glodis.
"We're outraged," said Raeed Tayeh of the American Muslim Association in North America (AMANA).
"If the senator believes that this is a solution to terrorism and believes such ridiculous notions then this is disturbing for an elected official to have such a belief and (be) spreading such beliefs," Tayeh said in a statement.
"This is...reckless behavior because the story (about Pershing) is obviously not true," he said. "And it's also not true that if a Muslim comes into contact with a pig he would be denied heaven. This is ridiculous."
Glodis told the Boston Globe the Pershing story was a matter of historical fact.

The Chair of the House committee on foreign affairs yesterday warned that a US state legislator’s suggestion that Muslim terrorists be shot with bullets dipped in pig’s blood and buried with pig entrails could inflame passions in Mindanao.
Rep. Apolinario Lozada Jr. (Lakas, Negros Occ.) said the suggestion carried in fliers distributed by Sen. Guy Glodis (Dem., Mass.) to his colleagues might “reopen the wounds of war between (Filipino) Moros and American soldiers.”
“His action has placed the lives of American nationals, particularly the soldiers currently deployed in Mindanao, at risk,” Lozada said in a statement.
The Islamic religion bars Muslims from eating pork and considers pigs unholy and dirty animals. Burying a Muslim with pig entrails and blood would deny him entry to paradise, many believe.
An American Muslim told the Boston Globe, however, that the belief was not true.
Raeed Tayeh of the American Muslim Association in North America said, “ This is ridiculous. It’s one of those urban legends that keep being passed on. Muslims believe that God admits people to heaven based on their actions.”
Glodis said the practice was carried out by US Gen. John Pershing against Filipino Muslims during the American pacification of Mindanao early in the 20th century.
“Our Muslim brothers would be reminded how their forefathers had fought the American cavalry with machetes, and were butchered in the end,” Lozada said. “I’m afraid the wounds of this war would be reopened, no thanks to Senator Glodis.

HOW TO STOP ISLAMIC TERRORISTS. It worked once in US History.
"Once in US history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so "Black Jack" told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson.
Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The US soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs' blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs.
All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years.
Pointing a gun into the face of Islamic terrorists won't make them flinch. They welcome the chance to die for Allah. According to Gen. Pershing, the Americans must show them that they won't get to Muslim heaven (which they believe has an endless supply of virgins) but instead will die with the hated pigs of the devil."
Here's the reaction of the ever-notorious Ramon Tulfo, a Muslim-hating writer of the Philippine Daily Inquirer:
"American Muslims reportedly have taken offense at a suggestion by a US state senator that bodies of Muslim terrorists be buried with pig entrails to deter suicide attacks.
Guy Glodis, a Democrat and the Massachusetts state legislator, sent a flier, lifted from a US newspaper, saying Muslims were barred from entering paradise if they were buried with pigs blood, entrails, etc.
Muslims are forbidden by their religion from eating pork or having any contact with pigs. Yes, the Glodis suggestion is unfair. TO THE PIGS."
Our take on the issue:
All these and more only show the extreme prejudice and hatred that most people have against Muslims.
But of course, this is truly unfair. This "so-called" Pershing model deserves all the negative flak it is getting because it is nothing more than a "dumb head model".
Glodis, Tulfo and those who are in agreement with the "Pershing Model" are nothing more than people who think through their asses instead of their heads.
To say that the "Pershing Model" worked almost a century ago is the height of ignorance. On the contrary, it is one of the reasons why the Muslim rebellion in the Philippines has become even stronger.
