What do the Muslims say about the Oakwood mutiny?
An eye for eye, a tooth for a tooth.
Arrest suspected perpetrators (of the Davao blasts) and raid their communities too, says one Muslim human rights activist.
Marawi youth leader Drieza Lininding, spokesperson for the Coalition of Moro Youth Movements, says they are "disgusted" with the government's handling of the present "political crisis." He criticized the "sidetracking" of the grievances of the junior military officers such as the selling of bullets to Moro rebels. Government has filed charges against the alleged coup plotters and created a independent commission to investigate the mutiny. He also questioned ongoing militarization in Mindanao as "it is the AFP who is prolonging the war in Mindanao." In the aftermath of the Davao airport and wharf bombings, Moro human rights groups have criticized the warrantless raids on Muslim communities, and the arrests and detentions of Muslims being implicated in said events. "We never heard anything about their (detainees) whereabouts. Now that the real perpetrators are being exposed, the government is very quick in sidetracking the issue by implicating opposition leaders, who are allegedly the masterminds of the failed coup attempt," Lininding said. End.
