Muslims end fasting on Tuesday, November 24, 2003, after the moon-sighting Monday to observe the most important Islamic holiday EIDUL FITR. Faithfuls will flock to public places of prayer such as the Mindanao State University stadium and Golden Mosque in Quiapo.

Candidato Gutoc, incoming Ambassador to Oman, passed away last November 6, Thursday morning, in Cagayan de Oro City due to liver failure. He was buried in accordance with Islamic rites on the same day at his home in barrio Bangon, Marawi City. He was 56 and would have turned 57 this coming November 25. He was supposed to depart for his new post in Muscat, Oman two days after his death. |

The Night of Power descends on the Muslim world as it celebrates the last ten days of the Holy Month of Ramadhan or the Lailatul Qadr. Eidul Fitr is expected to be celebrated on Nov. 26. Fasting this period is doubly blessed as prayers are given more significance to have a thousand equivalents.

The Children Drawing Contest among the Madrasah students in Maharlika Village, Taguig, pushed through last October 25. The contest was facilitated be the Young Muslim Professionals (YMP) with valuable support coming from the Nation Youth Commission (NYC), the Juan Encarnacion salon, the Muslim Youth Union of the Philippines and UNILEVER Philippines. |
